WIP's

Ok, so here's my first knitting post! Yay!

At the moment I'm working on two things: My first knitted/felted bag and a children's sweater I'm designing sort of as I go along. I think it will turn out just beautiful - even if I say so myself. I usually have a rule that forbids me to start a new project before the last one is finished, that way I get stuff done! But I started the sweater out of leftover yarn I was recently given by my sister and it didn't turn out to be quite enough for the whole thing. I'll have to get more asap.

I haven't felted anything before so I'm excited to see how the bag turns out, I don't even know how/if the wool I'm using will felt! I'm crossing my fingers and hoping it'll be ok. I always thought felting was a difficult and messy process and sure as sh*t didn't want to go there.
I deal with more than my fair share of messy processes in my baby's diapers every day! But I came across felting instructions in a knitting magazine my boyfriend gave me for Christmas and was all "What the... eh?... just throw it in the washing machine?? Seriously, is that all?!!!"
It just sounded way too easy!

In any case, I'm half way through knitting the bag already after starting it late last night - if it doesn't felt well, I'll have a semi-felted, semi-pretty bag. The plan was to use it for my knitting stuff when I'm out and about but if it turns out to be fugly I'll just use it to hold some of my ever-growing stash and try again later. I know what you're all thinking!
"Why the hell doesn't she make a swatch?"
The honest answer to that question is that I want to get rid of this yarn FAST, it's been bugging me forever! And I figure I might get lucky with the felting and I might not - but in any case I'm going to use the dang thing! ;)
In any case the felting idea appeals to me so I'm sure I won't give up.

I'll post pictures later on today, right now my baby is sort of screaming at me for not helping her... (she's sort of mastered the art of rolling from her back to her tummy but somehow always gets stuck!)

Anyway, that was my first knitting post!
